Take Me Out to the Ball Game

Baseball is officially over. Sigh. It was fun but I'm kind of glad that commitment is over. To celebrate Pierce's team, who came in second place this year, his team got to go to a Ogden Raptor's game last night and run out on the field with the players. Pierce played short stop most of the season so he got to be announced with the Raptor's short stop and stand out on the field with him while the national anthem was sung. We got to do this last year also and it was great fun. Although, last year Ryan wasn't here (Mexico) so it was nice to have him with us, plus we took the rest of the kids this time. Pierce had fun goofing off with his teammates and getting his baseball signed by various players.

There was an added bonus last night, in that Tommy Lasorda was there! What a nice surprise! They had him walk out before the game started and said a bunch of stuff about him and declared July 10th Tommy Lasorda Day in Ogden City. Tommy has some history here come to find out. So he then proceeded to talk to the audience and got a little emotional. I tried getting a good picture but my camera wouldn't turn on just as he walked by us. But here's one where you can see the cute back of him at least! He's in the middle with the gray hair and tan pants. Anyway, we had a good time, the game was very long, the Raptors lost, the peanuts and hot dogs were yummy, and we got a good laugh listening to all the beer drinkers talk. So no more baseball...until next year...
